West series
The Jazz and Mavericks squared off in what could have been the conference final. It seemed that those from Utah, after the fourth game, where they tied the tie at two, despite the return of Luka Doncic, would end up qualifying with an orderly game and few errors by Frenchman Rudy Gobert. However, they could do little against the persistence of the Slovenian, who scored a stellar fifth game to return the window to his team and finish qualifying in a sixth game that we all enjoyed with a great match by Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, Bojan Bogdanovic, Jalen Brunson, Dorian Finney-Smith and, of course, Luka Doncic, leaving us until the last breath without batting an eye.
The Mavericks were preparing the next tie against the Suns who had just left out the Pelicans of McCollum, Ingram, Nance, and the absent Zion Williamson. Those of Chris Paul obtained the same result of 4-2, despite having the intermittent presence of one of his best men, Devin Booker.
It was the most dizzying tie in the west; The Suns hit first, making it 2-0 on the scoreboard with the Paul-Booker duo taking the reins, although very well supported by Crowder and Bridges. Then it was those from Dallas who managed to tie two with the work on par with the entire team.
Luka Doncic's push went from strength to strength for victory in the fifth game, however it was the Phoenix team who put the first match point to win the tie. But no, it wasn't going to be the last game, as a bordering triple-double from the Slovenian lifted his team again, who left for the seventh game with high spirits to get through to the conference final.
Ja Morant, will return
For the Warriors it was not a path of roses, but it was not full of thorns either. Although they did meet a man who knocks on doors to succeed in the next few years in the NBA; Ja Morant.
After getting rid of the Nuggets of, for the second consecutive year MVP, Nikola Jokic with a quick 4-1, they faced the Grizzlies who had just done very well against the Wolves by winning 4-2. Curry's men won the first duel, but they already saw Morant's beast show its claws, bringing them closer to the triple-double 9-10-34. And it didn't take much longer for him to make the first injury to the Warriors, scoring a great game 8-8-47 and putting the tie at one, although misfortune fell on him and the Grizzlies when he suffered an injury in the third game that already set him apart from the rest of the tie.
Finally, the Warriors, with the Splash Brothers on track, managed to advance to the conference finals, leaving Ja Morant behind, who will surely come back stronger next year.
The final was more of the same, although it might seem that it was going to be written as one of the most epic for the simple fact that Curry and Doncic were on the court. But it was not like that. The Warriors gave a review of the book (4-1) to some Mavericks who remain at the gates for another year.
